The Straz Center is seeking candidates to join our team who have a passion for advancing the arts and embraces the Straz Center's mission and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.

Located in downtown Tampa on the beautiful Riverwalk, the Straz offers a team-based work environment and a full package of benefits for full-time staff including options for health/dental, vision, etc., plus a generous 403(b) plan.

The Restaurant Supervisor assists in supervising operations and staff across our group of restaurants, Maestro's Restaurant, Maestro's Cafe and Maestro's On the River.

The Restaurant Supervisor will take a role as a leader in providing excellent customer service, directing staff, and achieving sales, labor, and budgetary objectives. Executing Opening and Closing checklists daily, the Restaurant Supervisor will lead by example and train quality employees in providing the highest quality of customer service.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be willing to be fully vaccinated by date of hire unless a specific exemption or accommodation has been requested and approved based on current local, state, and federal laws.
  • Must be willing and available to work on-site.
  • Ability to work nights, weekend, and holidays. Excellent schedule flexibility and impeccable attendance is required.
  • Ability to be highly proficient and train on all functionalities of a professional point-of-sale (POS) system.
    • TOAST experience is a plus.
  • Ability to effectively lead, motivate, and relate professionally to staff, peers, and clients.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, vendors, co-workers, volunteers, and staff.
  • Ability to effectively present ideas and conduct training sessions and pre-shift meetings with staff.
  • Effective problem solving, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability and experience executing room arrangements and standard table settings.
  • Professional knowledge in dining room service procedures and operational execution based on experience.
  • Retail level math skills and the ability to accurately handle cash transactions and credit card transactions.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Professional level abilities in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).

Education and Work Experience:

  • At least one year of prior supervisory experience in a full service, high volume restaurant.
  • Catering experience preferred.
  • Multi-outlet facility experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
