Position Summary: The Banquet Server is responsible for serving food and beverages to Center patrons.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Compliance / Standards

  • Complies at all times with Straz standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
  • Complies with all standard operating procedures related to the Stewarding department.
  • Maintains regular attendance in compliance with Straz standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the facility.
  • Maintains a high standard of cleanliness and order in all kitchen and utility work areas. Cleaning duties will vary depending on skills and the facility's current needs.
  • Accurately and efficiently set tables with appropriate service ware per the Banquet Event Order (BEO).
  • Able to understand and work from the Banquet Event Order prior to shift meeting.
  • Performs side work at the start and end of each shift as required by the event.
  • Maintains clean service and prep areas.

 

Customer Service

  • Introduces menu to each table and advises supervisor of any dietary constraints that arise.
  • Monitors and observes guests dining experience. Ensures guests are satisfied with the experience. Responds promptly and courteously to any requests.
  • Clears dishes and flatware by course as guests are finished.

 

Professionalism

  • Maintains high standards of personal appearance and grooming which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
  • Approaches all encounters with guests/employees in a friendly, service-oriented, and positive manner.
  • Communicates with Banquet Manager about any requests made by the guests or client outside of the details on the Banquet Event Order (BEO).
  • Is ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.
  • Is ready and willing to assist housemen team with clearing room, resetting tables, or room turns.
  • Is able to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Catering Operation as directed by the Banquet Manager or Banquet Captain.
  • Performs other duties as requested by Food and Beverage management.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not contain supervisory responsibilities.
